Squarespace Web Design

Your business, clearly expressed.

Design the decision, then the page.

Squarespace web design connects your brand, content and customer journey inside a website your team can manage. Hooman plans the pages, designs the visual system, builds the agreed experience and prepares your team to maintain it. The aim is a visitor who understands the offer and knows what to do next.

A template can organize blocks. It cannot decide which service matters to a visitor, which evidence earns trust or where an enquiry should begin. We resolve those decisions before polishing the layout. The custom-built website above shows that design principle through a clear hierarchy of message, imagery and navigation.

Make the next step clear.

1

Understand the offer

Explain the service before asking for an enquiry.

2

Recognize the evidence

Connect relevant work to the visitor's decision.

3

Keep information current

Make routine updates part of the design brief.

What we take responsibility for

  • Content and page structure: a page map, agreed navigation and content priorities for the journeys that matter. Copywriting, photography and brand development are identified explicitly when they need a separate scope.
  • Visual design: typography, colour, imagery and reusable page patterns shaped around the business. We review real headlines, service descriptions and project content so the composition is tested against what you will publish.
  • Squarespace implementation: the agreed pages, mobile layouts, navigation and contact routes. Booking, commerce and external integrations are scoped against the actual workflow and available platform tools.
  • Launch preparation: checks of links, form destinations, image sizing, page metadata, keyboard use and representative screen sizes. For a redesign, we also account for the pages and URLs being replaced.
  • Editor handover: a walkthrough of your routine changes, documented customizations and named owners for subscriptions, domains and connected accounts. Continued design or content support is agreed separately.

A system beyond the homepage.

The palette above is an identity artifact from our engineering-sector work. Defined colours and a consistent visual structure give a team repeatable decisions. That is the design discipline we bring to a Squarespace build: decide what stays consistent before handing over the ability to change content.

Our editing test is practical. Replace a photograph, update a service and add a real project. Check whether the page still reads clearly on desktop and mobile. If an ordinary update depends on repairing custom code, we reconsider the pattern or make that maintenance responsibility explicit. Editor independence has to be designed into the work.

Feedback on our website work

Very helpful and knowledgeable when it came to the conception, design, and development of our company website. Would happily work with Hooman Studio again!

Choose for the work ahead.

1

Squarespace

A focused site with familiar publishing needs.

2

Custom website

Distinctive journeys with structured content.

3

Web application

Specific workflows with roles and shared data.

Where the platform fits

Squarespace is a useful candidate for a service business, portfolio or focused marketing site when supported pages, forms and publishing tools cover the important journeys. Fluid Engine lets desktop and mobile layouts be arranged separately, so both views need deliberate review. That flexibility does not replace content hierarchy or usability testing.

Choose a custom website when structured content needs to serve several destinations or the experience depends on behavior the site builder cannot comfortably support. Choose a web application when roles, shared operational data and complex actions are central. Squarespace does not run custom server-side application code; an external integration also brings its own costs and maintenance.

Protect what already works

  • Keep an inventory before redesign: record important pages, downloads, search landing pages, enquiry forms and the systems they send information to. A new design should not quietly remove a useful route.
  • Map changed addresses: preserve useful URLs where possible and create appropriate redirects where they change. Changing a Squarespace slug does not automatically redirect the old address.
  • Rehearse the real journeys: follow a search landing page to a service, submit a test enquiry and confirm its destination. For bookings or purchases, agree a safe test flow before release.
  • Treat migration as a rebuild where necessary: imports and exports do not transfer every page type, design setting or integration. Keep source copy and media, check the destination and retain the old site until the agreed migration checks pass.

Decisions worth making early

Start with the page that matters.

Bring the current website or brief, your core services, available content and the action you want visitors to take. We begin with the key customer journey and the most demanding page, not a catalogue of decorative layouts. The first phase produces a page map, content requirements, a design direction and a scoped build recommendation.

Before a wider commitment, you can see what Squarespace handles well, what needs extra work and what would be better built elsewhere. The quotation separates studio work from platform and third-party costs, with milestones tied to content readiness, review decisions and launch checks.
